Ugh. Don’t you just hate it when your browser suddenly hangs or freezes, and your work—a project that took you seven hours to do—disintegrates into virtual nothingness?
I know I do. It puts me in a position where I’m not afraid to go ballistic.
I’m sure you have your own freelancing irks that drive you to the wall. You find yourself grinding your fingernails whenever a co-worker touches your files, or when a client always makes you revise the itty-bitty details—for no extra pay.
This is not to say that it’s bad to have these kinds of pet peeves. Coming to terms with these things allow us to become more aware of who we are and how we work.
On that note, here are a couple of other freelancing pet peeves that push my buttons:
- When a client can’t decide on what s/he wants, and expects me to revise at his or her every whim.
- When payments are delayed due to holidays or weekends I completely forgot about.
- When my laptop slows down for some reason, and I can’t finish my work.
Let’s hear from you this time. What are your freelancing pet peeves? Go ahead and release them all in the comments.
